Checked website, couldn't get info about my case. Called and waited for 20 minutes, got hang up and called back again,...."sorry you called out side of our biz hours" right at 4PM! what a terrible service !! And I think this is the busiest court in CA since they are so good at spreading their yellow slips

Impossible to get anyone on the phone. Did trial by written declaration, sent in USB with dash cam evidence, only to get a "failure to appear" notice and my fine tripled. The ticket was a bogus "following too closely" on a 35 MPH road and a whole car can fit between us... I thought it'd be open and shut case, but since they never open their mail, I guess I gotta go fight it in person. Helloooooo loooong lines....

Rude and unhelpful staff make it really hard to pay your fines. Won't answer simply questions, won't answer any questions, this place makes the DMV seem wonderful. Why make it that much difficult for your citizens to stay lawful by making it so hard to pay a simple fine. Makes no sense.

In one word, the court house is insanely slow. When you get a ticket, there is a bunch of steps you need to take that require back and forth communication. So far each back and forth take on average 2 months. This is long enough that makes you wonder if your case is being processed.

I have never received a “fix it ticket” before so I did not know how to go about paying for this type of ticket. I called the office to ask basic questions and some help to guide me through this process. I ended up speaking with Susan at the office, I have never in my life spoke with someone so rude, She spoke so aggressive and unprofessional. It is an embarrassment for the county of San Mateo to have employees with the lack of customer service skills and professionalism working in the county office.
