I really like most things about RDU, but there's a fatal flaw in the protocol regarding pickups for arrivals. There's no policy enforced to prevent drivers from "camping" in the pickup area, which leads to heavy congestion and long wait times. My ride is stuck in a line to get to me, and there are people here idling their cars for over 20 or 30 minutes every time I come back home. They are preventing those of us who are here, outside & waiting, and our drivers from connecting while they selfishly take up loading spaces for people who aren't even present yet. Every other airport prevents this behavior, strictly. It's time rdu gets with the program and stops this practice.

Parking was great, staff is so nice. The police were polite and very helpful. The BIG problem is the filth. The bathrooms and seats are so dirty. I was here from 2:30 pm and I will be here until are 8:30 pm and eventhough I have seen multiple people pushing carts with cleaning supplies, not one of them was ever actually cleaning any surface. It is seriously so nasty dirty here. It's disgusting. YUCK 🤮

Can be confusing especially for first timers. No rules posted. Nothing to tell you how to pick up your party. We were in line at the curb to pick up. Our son was helping his wife put her luggage in the back of our ride, as she had just arrived. The security, or whatever he's called, kept hollering at my husband, who was in the driver's seat, to move on...he did it 3 times while he was walking toward us. Husband finally waved his hands and I hollered back that they are loading luggage. He looked at us real hateful and then proceeded to move on. I understand they have a job to do but they don't have to be rude. And what else were we supposed to do? She arrived, son got out to help with her luggage, they were loading for us to leave...he should have been able to see that because the back was up and they were at the back of the ride. But he was too focused on someone sitting in the driver's seat.

TL;DR: On Monday, I arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport at 9:23 AM for a 10:05 AM Delta flight to LaGuardia, NY. After enrolling in CLEAR on the spot, I passed through security by 9:33 AM and reached my gate (D10) at 9:35 AM. Boarding started 10-15 minutes late. In hindsight, I probably didn’t need CLEAR, but it provided peace of mind in case of long lines. I had a flight departing at 10:05 AM on a Monday and was worried I might not have enough time to get through security. To prepare, I paid $200 to enroll in CLEAR while driving to the airport, and my wife completed my application. I arrived at 9:23 AM and went straight to the CLEAR representatives. Despite signing up minutes earlier, they were professional and efficient. It only took about two minutes to scan my fingerprints, face, and eyes before they escorted me to the front of the security line. After showing my boarding pass to the TSA agent, I waited for a bin and proceeded through security. A notable change at security was being told to leave my laptop in my bag, which streamlined the process. I cleared security by 9:33 AM and arrived at my gate (D10) at 9:35 AM, just as boarding was scheduled to begin. Boarding started about 10-15 minutes late, but everything went smoothly. Looking back, I probably didn’t need CLEAR to make my flight as there wasn’t much of a line. However, it gave me peace of mind knowing it would’ve saved me significant time if the line had been long. Overall, a great experience, and I’d recommend CLEAR for anyone facing tight schedules or busy airports.
