Best for convenience but there are other options. Your child will be 90% responsible for themselves here. The staff is really just there for looks. They don't like to actually be helpful. Asking too many questions frustrates them. They don't care about your child's future because again, that's the child's responsibility not theirs. Their job is to provide a platform for your child with the tools for them to use on their own. So to be clear, your child better know how to pay attention and keep up on their own or you better be available to be there to help them keep up with it all. Not like regular homework help. Like keeping up with tests through 3rd party platforms and on-site test days that could cause your child not to graduate even if they have all their credits. The school doesn't even take accountability for misinformation that leads to no graduation. They blame the child for everything. We were sent here from their regular public school so I never saw the rating but geez I wish I did.

My Grandson is about to go here because he has to but, he is good kid. Concerned after seeing the reviews though he'll be online. I just want him to succeed and learn and graduate. Hopefully it goes good that some of the good reviews aren't made up. As one student was told by a teacher to put good ones because of their poor reviews and that the teachers will no be inappropriate and act professional with my Grandson. Stop judging these kids to some teachers

I had already recommended a lot of people here based on my experience as a student. The school is great but I want to let you know….I just called and spoke to Karen in registration about possibly switching my kindergarten son from full day 8:05am-2:15pm to half day. I had done the virtual orientation the Thursday before school started and my husband and I clearly remember hearing half days being talked about. I mentioned that to Karen but she used a pouty baby voice in her response as if talking to a kid herself. Her response was that all Clark County has switched to full days. I attended this school when it was Virtual High School and I studied on my own. They now expect parents aka learning coaches to be beside the child for the entire school day that’s okay but letting you know.

This school sets you up fail. So disappointed! I should've realized since it's on the Eastside that it would suck. Changed my child at the last minute due to my child's health issues, to attend here at NVLA and it was awful. Immediately after we got her Chromebook we went home and tried to log on but it wouldn't work. Sent emails the Friday before school started telling them this. I was directed to fill out a form for help to fix their mess up which then tells you to wait 24-48 hours for them to help fix their own problem. Then as a new student they don't tell you anything else about how to get to your classes or how to find the codes to get into the classes. Also the kids have to do testing in person there and it's located all the way on the EASTSIDE in a terrible area.

Students: The students, well, a handful in most classes are ill-mannered, inconsiderate, and just disrespectful and get away with it because they're just “kids”. (This behaviour is justified and / or ignored.) Teachers: The teachers here are stuck up in their supposed authority, not listening to students and borderline degrading them when they ask for help. They clearly don't care for the child's interest. Also another portion, their rubric and pacing. Their rubrics usually seem confusing or change which makes the class difficult, and the pacing is pure trash. I only understand such fast pacing to high-content classes like Algebra I(or more). The general work: The coursework is not only overloading, it barely helps us contain and understand the actual material since how poorly it's taught (can also be the teacher's fault). Rubric and criteria portion: Most of the rubric is confusing due to how it's structured, explained, or how vague it is. This leaves with low grades because it's difficult to follow. The general criteria is not said and causes grading issues. Upper-ranked staff: Similarly to the teacher, they abuse their authority and power and lack actual interest in their students. They barely listen and don't seem to care about the problems and issues, giving a mass-produced answer that solves nothing or not even responding and become unavailable despite needing to always be there. The school itself: Not necessarily the school, but the digital portion of it. It's vulnerable to hacking, shutting down, and completely logging students out which causes huge issues with work, grading, and attendance. The interior design of the networking and firewall isn't strong and has weak spots that risks personal information. Mandatory applications: Two of these, Honorlock and Go Guardian. Honorlock: Honorlock itself is plain spyware, that's it. Despite what it claims and says, it's spyware that collects data and sells it. It also is incorrect, easy to bypass, and is ineffective. Go Guardian: A monitoring application that's use is not even helpful due to how easy it is to bypass, if you so badly need something to stalk your students screen, that should be a red flag off the start, especially because teachers tend to abuse the control this application gives.
