This is a beautiful, historic building with a museuem and gift shop. The museum has hands on activities for kids as well as interesting displays for adults. There are a train engine and caboose outside on the beautiful manicured grounds that kids can climb on and play in. The staff is by FAR the most polite and helpful I have encountered at any train or bus station, not to mention airport. From the second we stepped off the bus, the staff was there to guide us and help with luggage. I was traveling with my 7 year old grandson and the assistance was greatly appreciated. Way to go, Marshall, Texas!

This museum/train station has a very friendly staff. It is clear that they enjoy their visitors and Amtrak passengers. We love watching the trains from here, there is a great view from the outside, second balcony. It can be confusing to find the museum, but if you pay attention to the signs, you will find it easily enough. Our kids love this place too.

Any and all complaints about the onboard train staff should be directed straight to Amtrak in D.C. That said, this is a nice Amtrak station to visit. The station doubles as a bit of history with some displays on the waiting room. Also, there is now a picnic area by the steam engine and caboose. Be prepared to wait behind the gate to the station platform as the platform is rife with scars from freight derailments.

Didn't get a chance to go inside so this review is from the train. The train staff is excellent. So professional and courteous. What an enjoyable experience. They have an observation car with windows everywhere. I've always wanted to take a train ride. I want to bring my family next time.
