What a wonderful company! I had inquired about a car for our upcoming visit to Juneau via cruise ship. Unfortunately, they were all booked up. So, I decided we’d just take a bus to visit Mendenhall Glacier. However, while we were cruising toward Juneau, I received a text from Like A Local to let us know they’d had a cancellation and a car was available. I booked it and am so glad I did. We had a Subaru Ascent waiting for us close to the dock. We were able to visit Mt. Roberts Goldbelt Tram, Mendenhall Glacier, and two locations on Douglas Island. What a special day! We so appreciated the free tram passes that came with the car as well as the goodie bag with Alaska treats. Thank you so much!

Like a Local made sure we had an amazing day in Juneau. The car was perfect and Tori made the process so seamless. She provided all instructions as promised. No waiting in line, the car was ready at the parking garage only a few feet away from the gangway. We took advantage of the Tram passes provided by Like a Local, which we truly enjoyed. An awesome experience renting with this company. Very consistent and clear communications! Here’s a tip. We got off the ship very early and walked to the car and jumped in and drove to Mendenhall Glacier. We were able to park in the first spot and were among the very few in the park. We got incredible pictures with no one around. Once the tour buses arrived it started to get crowded. We then went to The old gold mine and some other sites including the Gold Tram which was included in the rental. Very convenient. You will not be disappointed!

We had a fabulous time with Like A Local in Juneau! From start to finish, they executed the agenda seamlessly and tailored the experience to what we enjoy most—spending time in nature. Their recommendations were spot-on and really made our trip special. It was such a treat to experience Juneau without the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist buses—everything felt relaxed, personalized, and stress-free. What an incredible company! I did quite a bit of research before booking a car rental for our day visit in Juneau! When I read reviews of Like a Local customers, I immediately booked our vehicle for our family of 7! So what exactly sets Like A Local apart from other renters? Let’s start with the amazing communication with the team before even embarking on our cruise. The car was kept at the cruise terminal - so MINIMAL walking!! Next the welcome bag treat that was provided in the car for all 7 of us with LOCAL Alaskan goodies!!!! We loved the eats!! Lastly they provided corporate passes for the Mount Roberts tramway gondola lift at the cruise port for our entire family of 7! Now let’s talk about the car itself! Subaru 7pax brand new vehicle - super comfy and roomy ! We can’t express how impressed we were with Like A Local!! Totally recommend renting from them (especially if you’re in town for a day trip from a cruise!) We drove to Mendenhall Glacier visitor center, visited the world’s smallest Costco, went to a local Fred Myers grocery store (where we found great Juneau products & souvenirs!) the Whale Project and then went around the downtown! We saw Eagles and even a porcupine!! Loved our day in Juneau!
