Costanzo Review My 15-year-old son is a student at Costanzo, and he’s absolutely thrilled! He’s still on the journey to achieving his dream of becoming an airline pilot, but he’s definitely flying in the right direction. The people at Costanzo are fantastic! While there are numerous schools in the NJ area that offer pilot training, some only say what you want to hear, or even things you don’t need to hear. If you’re eager to learn and want to feel like part of a close-knit family with seasoned instructors who share a genuine passion for flying, then Costanzo Air is the spot for you!

Costanzo Air provided me a full service 5 star experience. As a student pilot visiting from San Diego, CA, Daniel Costanzo with Operations was very informative of NY to NJ public transit in order to accommodate me. He provided clear and illustrative directions through the busy bus terminals. When I arrived, I appreciated the cleanliness and organization of their space, and Lisa Andersen helped me feel at home showing me to refreshments and restrooms. I flew with Steven Yang who was very professional and laid back, which helped me remain calm and assertive in the local air space that was new to me. I highly recommend the Hudson Tour. Big thanks to everyone involved at Costanzo Air, during my brief interaction here there’s a positive vibe in the air and feeling of community that can be hard to find sometimes in General Aviation. 9/6/25 Edit: I was able to fly with Costanzo Air a second time during my short visit to NJ. Started off my day with unfortunate lane closures delaying my bus commute by 50 minutes, but that did not take away from my positive experience with this team. Daniel, Lisa and Steven were all pleasant and helpful once again despite my circumstance. I had the pleasure of flying with Martina Foy on what felt like a windy day for me, someone spoiled with San Diego weather. En route to the practice area she helped point out local visual references, sharing interesting facts and jokes about them. We got to work on maneuvers affected by wind, and a couple landings with a gusting crosswind. I struggled, but she helped keep the experience informative and safe. Two lantern flies even hitched a ride in the cockpit, but you don’t wanna know what happened to them…

I recently had the incredible opportunity to back seat my girlfriend's flight at Costanzo Air Flight School, and I can honestly say it was an absolute blast! Even from the "passenger" perspective, I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the experience. From the moment we arrived, the team at Costanzo Air was welcoming and professional. It was clear that safety is their top priority, which immediately put me at ease. What made the experience even better was just how much fun it was! Soaring above the landscape, taking in the incredible views, and seeing my girlfriend navigate the controls with growing expertise was genuinely thrilling. It wasn't just a flight lesson; it was an adventure we got to share. Costanzo Air doesn't just teach people to fly; they create an environment where learning is enjoyable and exciting. I have a lot of amazing things to say about this flight school. I joined in May of 2025 because I was in a hot mess at a disastrous Part 141 school I was enrolled in. I had been flying for 1 year, was enrolled at that college for the 2nd year, and I still did not have my solo because of weight listing. I was really considering quitting my passion and the industry as a whole. However, I sat down with Roberto, the owner who is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the industry. We came up with a solid plan to get my PPL by September when I had to leave for college. I was paired up with Kennedy, who is an amazing flight instructor. For the record, I highly recommend him. His main focus was making me proficient and getting my check ride as soon as possible. We blasted through the FAA requirements so quickly I could hardly believe it. I soloed within the first week or so of even joining this school, which boosted my confidence. Believe it or not, after everything was said and done, I got my private pilot certificate way, way ahead of schedule just 2 months later. That means I'm no longer 2 years behind where I'm supposed to be just one. This was after being constantly waitlisted for a year at my 141 and being waitlisted for my pre-solo check for 6 months. I am so happy I made the switch. Everyone is so friendly here, including Lisa, who is good at brightening everyone's mood and providing good advice and help. She even made me a post-checkride present lol. I would like to thank all of the other instructors there for the advice and help they also gave me at this school (and for the backseats). I would like to thank Kennedy and Roberto for getting me out of the mess that I was in they really do their best. I have my passion back more than ever and I know flying is all I want to do in life. I decided to start my IFR here at Costanzo Air and possibly commute all the way back from New England every weekend to train here. They are that good!! I cannot wait.

Fantastic experience with Costanzo Air! Booked a discovery night flight with them on a Cessna and we were upgraded to a Cirrus. Roberto, the owner was very helpful. He was quick to reply to my emails and very accommodating to my requests. The flight went very well, the skyline view over New York City was absolutely beautiful. We did a tour around the Statue of Liberty before returning to the flight school. They offer complete pilot license trainings as well.
