The comedians were great, but this review is solely a reflection of the Comedy World venue. First, they have a policy that requires a 2 item purchase per person -- which feels like a shady way to double ticket prices without being transparent about it. They serve food, but the basement is so smelly and humid that it's hard to have an appetite for the gas station quality meals they offer. There are no tables, so you're stuck juggling what you've ordered in your lap with nowhere to safely set it down. The kitchen is also so close that you can hear the stirring of utensils and slamming of dishes throughout the entire performance. To serve the food and enforce the 2 item minimum purchases, there's a constant parade of servers walking up the packed aisles blocking the stage view. It's obnoxious, noisy, and constantly takes you out of the performance. Finally, the chairs are small, hard plastic seats that are bolted to the ground. For the entire show, you're unavoidably pressed up against someone you don't know. It's incredibly hard to get comfortable and we ended up leaving early once we realized that we were moving around in our seats to avoid pain more than we were actually laughing. It's incredibly obvious that the venue prioritizes squeezing visitors for every last dime over offering a quality viewing experience. We will not be purchasing tickets for this venue again.

Saw Nimesh Patel, and he was great. No issues there. For being a world-renowned Comedy Club, I don't know about all that. I was pleased to see cheap tickets, but I didn't realize I would have to purchase $15 drinks, that there is a 2 drink/food minimum, and I wasn't told until the very end until after we paid, that we could've just ordered water. There is better seating in the DMV. Why are you gonna require a 2 drink/food minimum, but not give us a suitable table? Now with the absolutely great seating, and required 2 drinks/food items, the waiters are everywhere, which is incredibly distracting. A waiter stopped in front of us to talk to the people in the row ahead of us, stood straight up, and blocked our view. Completely lost any sense of immersion. I just expected more from Comedy Works Denver.

Last night I went to my very first comedy show ever! I was a little skeptical about going because of the one star reviews of this place, most of them talked about the seating or the staff. Yes, the seating was a little crammed, but what do you expect? A theater seat? It’s a comedy club, not a movie theater. Adjust your expectations, please. And about the staff, they were very awesome and helpful! Five stars. Two thumbs up. High fives all around!

There was already a long line to get in once we arrived, but there was a gentleman checking names outside and we got our VIP wristbands then and there. This allowed us, once inside, to go to the bottom of the stairs past everybody and get seated stat. The venue itself was very packed, but once the show got started, I wasn't thinking about sardines. Josh Johnson and guests had me in stitches, and the meet and greet after was such an unexpected and delightful bonus!

Saw Gianmarco here, and he was great- as well as his opener Liam Nelson. The club itself is cramped and impractical. The two item requirement at a 300% mark up AND its bad? Fires and mozzarella sticks were not good. The margaritas taste like taquila and water, cost $18. My 8oz redbull was $8. All that without a functional dining set up? You are eating out of your lap and expected to use your shared arm rest for your drinks so its not really an arm rest- but at this point just put tables in. Not a great expiernce. Staff was nice and friendly but they do get in the way a bit, certainly not their fault- just how the establishment is ran. But if youre into being hip to hip with strangers and forced to buy food and drinks, youll probably have a good time. I will not be returning though.

Great commics!!! Worst entertainment venue that I've ever visited. An hour line to get into the venue, seating is more uncomfortable than the DMV - you touch strangers the entire time, no air conditioning so you sweat on strangers, not a single table available but they have a 2 drink minimum. It is very unsafe - if there was an emeegency people would be trampled trying exit the over stuffed basement. Only a good attitude and good humans get you through. Yikes!!!! I am done.

I came to Comedy Works Denver last night to see Lil Mo Mozzarella (and Sean Brown, who CRUSHED it). The show itself? Hilarious. Amazing. 10/10/. The staff? Hands-down the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in Denver. First off — we were seated all the way in the back, not bothering anyone, and were still repeatedly shushed in the middle of the set. At an interactive comedy show... Make it make sense. The tables were so tiny (maybe three inches wide at best?) that I accidentally knocked ours over. My boyfriend even warned the staff member and cleaned most of it himself, but the server acted like we personally ruined her evening. She hovered, watched us like a hall monitor, and kept coming over to “remind” us about things that didn’t need reminding. The aisles were also absurdly narrow, yet staff kept marching through every two minutes, blocking the view and causing way more disturbance than anything the audience was doing. Ironically, the people interrupting the show the most… were the employees. Overall, the comedians delivered an incredible night — but the staff’s attitude, constant interruptions, and overly strict policing killed the vibe. It felt less like a comedy club and more like being watched by Czech babičkas. IYKYK. Amazing performers, terrible atmosphere. If this place adopted a little self-service and a lot less micromanaging, it’d be a totally different experience.
