Derrick Riddick does not do his job, I observed him giving violations without taking ANY measurements across multiple lots. Code is code. It goes both ways. If you don't ACTUALLY take measurements. You have no Idea of in code or not. This is the same employee that told me an average is the sum of all the height. The city has done a really poor job hiring. Malicious practices like these damage the environment and destroy protection for pollinators during the winter. Not doing your job destroys the current incentive for "Freedom Lawns" as outlined by 7 Principles for a Chesapeake Healthy Landscape. This employee told me he doesn't measure, he feels like it is a certain height. FIRE HIM, hold poor work accountable. Further family members of his own lawn care, construction, and handy men companies. This is a conflict of interest and puts him in a position to abuse his authority, especially when he judges by how it looks... not an actual measurement.

I visited the DMV Select to do a retitle for my dad's jeep. The clerk was super helpful and professional! Got everything done in short order.

I needed to title and register a vehicle and all the other DMV locations were practically overrun. So I went to the DMV select location at City hall around 9am and I am so glad I did. They were quick and efficient and they were able to take care of everything I needed. Thank you Ahleen!

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, the place is very efficient and quick. Easily the best government office I’ve ever had to do business with.

If you are a young individual wanting to move here don’t. There’s nothing to do other than eat you soul away. If you work for them it’s even worse, they say they are the city that cares but is quick to find ways to cheap out its residents and workers and paint a picture of “we want to provide a good looking city” lets be real here. Lane lines are dead, potholes are everywhere, the city looks ugly with everything they are doing. They get billions in their budgets but non of it seems to be going anywhere other than wasting time and money to other contractors when they can easily upgrade their own equipment. I’m serious go to their public works and you will not see billions of dollars anywhere
