My personal story with acting begins from about the age of seven or eight; I am currently 31. About six months ago I came across Acting With Max Studio and decided to give the studio a call to see if in having a conversation with someone about the curriculum, style of class, etc, I’d feel confident in what I had heard to take the scene study classes & explore those parts of myself that were always touched, since that initial experience I had, had with acting as a seven year old boy. To my surprise Max himself answered the phone & not only was able to give me the information I was seeking but also really just was an approachable, down to earth person to start. He took time out of his day to have a twenty to thirty minute phone call with me about acting, my story, a little bit about his story, and just about life in general. That may sound like a small thing to most, but to me it let me know the kind of person he was. I had the confidence in the class at that point & hit the ground running & I’ve been more than pleased with the class, & have even developed a friendship with Max. Also since starting with Max I’ve been in two films, & able to get footage for demos/reels so that I could audition & book roles. Auditioning is another area Max is very knowledgeable about & can help you with it greatly. Things I like & that have benefited me as an actor as it pertains to my growth: -Max has an adaptable teaching style where he’s able to resonate with various types of people in general, which in turn allows him to tailor concepts, ideas, methods, processes in a way that YOU understand. -Max is always willing to take a deeper dive into a topic & give more insight, inspire more thoughts & ideas in you, etc. -I like that Max sometimes won’t give you everything & instead strategically withholds certain things, in order to make you figure it out & have that joy. -Max is seemingly always available, which can be comforting to an actor, especially if you’re a newer actor, trying to find your bearings. Max ALWAYS gets back to you, whether it be through text, email, or a phone call. I had been searching high & low, left & right for an acting class that was legit, that was a fit, & that was in Maryland(there aren’t many), for about a year & a half. So I was more than relieved a few months in when I was still in the class & growing as an actor. It’s still a great fit ‘til this day! Now I’ll be performing in a showcase next month & I’m excited about that as well!
