This is my Navaid. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Navaid is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Navaid is useless. Without my Navaid I am useless. I must track my Navaid true (magnetic). I must track straighter than my student, who is trying to kill me. I must track it before he tracks the reciprocal. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my Navaid and myself are defenders of my $100 hamburger, we are the masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Best VOR in Payne county. She ain't perfect but she'll get you close to the runway.

The VOR is a great neighbor: Quiet, works 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365.25 days a year for the public good. This is my favorite VOR in the state, by far. While the FAA plans to decommission a couple hundred VORs across the country by 2025, thankfully good old SWO is not on that list.
