I flew out of Austin on 7/29/25 at 4 PM, and I have to say, the highlight of my trip was the amazing service from gate agent Jerald. He was everything you’d hope for in the service industry, accommodating, kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. His partner, whose name I didn’t catch (bright red lipstick, jet black hair), was equally incredible, both of them made the boarding process a breeze. The only area that could use some improvement was at ticketing. Our luggage was just 5 lbs overweight, and instead of working with us, the agents were noticeably sarcastic and rushed us aside, despite the fact that there wasn’t even a line behind us, it was a slow day. Aside from that, it was a great experience overall, and I’ll always love flying with Spirit Airlines when the crew treats passengers like Jerald and his teammate did!

One Star, Never Again. Flying with Spirit Airlines was hands-down one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The flight was delayed multiple times, and each delay was announced through a barrage of disorganized and contradictory text messages. At one point, the delay was listed as exactly 2 hours and 59 minutes which is just one minute shy of the compensation threshold. It felt manipulative and calculated. Customer service at the gate was dismissive and rude, treating passengers like we were the problem. Once on the plane, the seats were absurdly cramped and uncomfortable equating to basically plastic lawn chairs with minimal padding. No water is offered unless you pay for it. Yes, they charge for WATER. In 2025. On a flight that was delayed for hours. And just when I thought it couldn’t get more insulting, they had the audacity to text me during the delay asking if I wanted to prepay for in-flight WiFi…as if anyone would trust them to deliver anything at that point besides more disappointment. A nice gesture would have been to at least give their customers free WiFi for the troubles and wait. The entire experience felt cheap, disorganized, and borderline predatory. Unless you enjoy being treated like cargo and nickel-and-dimed for every basic necessity, avoid Spirit at all costs. I will be scheduling chiropractic care after sitting in these rollercoaster-firm seats for over three hours.

Not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical flying with Spirit, but I was pleasantly surprised. I would fly with them again if I have a short notice trip with no checked bags or carry on. Personal bag is the way to go.

After being minutes late we were told that we weren't being aloud on because we had bags to check in. After asking to board without bags we were told we still couldn't board because the flight was over booked. Then we were told it was our fault because we were so late. Then we stated that it wasn't boarding yet and the response was that they are boarding. The customer service was sub par...the attitude was sub par. The overall service was sub par but I'm sure I'm not saying anything that everyone doesn't already know. P.S. our tickets has seat numbers? How strange.

My first time flying Spirit Airlines and only my second time flying in my 60 something years. So, I was a bit nervous. But, after making it through security and with well enough time at the gate, I was ready by the time we boarded. The boarding went fairly quickly and efficiently. In no time we were ready to roll. I had a window seat behind the wing and a good view. The Flight Attendants did a good job on the Flight Instructions and it was easy to understand even with my slight hearing loss. It was a smooth takeoff. I was a tiny bit worried because I could see some thunderheads building off in the distance. I figured they weren't in our way, but, at one point we encountered some turbulence from one storm. It didn't last long and it was actually beautiful from above the cloud Bank below us. The Flight Attendants arrived with the Bar Cart and every one settled in for the rest of the flight. We arrived at LAX on time and landed very smoothly. The Pilots and Crew were great. The only thing I wished for is probably the reason the fares are so low compared to other Airlines.....More Leg Room and Comfier Larger Seats. The restroom was a great surprise. It was much roomier than my last flight and was well stocked and well lit. I loved the way everything was laid out. After landing the Deplaneing was a bit slow getting started, but, moved quickly once it got going. The Crew was at the Door and Greeted and Thanked each passenger. And, just like that...we were in Los Angeles...the City of our Destination. Thanks Spirit Airlines for a safe and "uneventful" round trip. We will definitely fly Spirit again.
