Great airport with great people. I have nothing but positive things to say regarding MMSF. The military is very professional. Customs is an easy process and Luis and Daniel are more than accommodating in their assistance with our Mexican flight plans. If you're ever traveling to Mexico, consider stopping here if need to clear Mexican Customs. Fuel is onsite, but currently they're out. It's a good rule of thumb to check ahead at any Mexican airport to verify fuel is onsite and available.

Daniel, the AFAC (Mexican FAA) inspector, was incredibly helpful in preparing me for my trip. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything and offered valuable advice, which really eased my anxiety about my first flight to Mexico in my Cirrus. On my return journey, Luis was also very supportive. The entire staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was quick and efficient. Customs, immigration, and the flight plan desk all worked seamlessly together. As a first-time general aviation cross-border traveler, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the experience was. I highly recommend this airport and team to anyone, and I suggest contacting Daniel in advance. He speaks perfect English and will guide you through every step of the process!

San Felipe is a great Airport of Entry (AOE) for entering and departing Mexico. I have been through this airport about 50 times over the last 10 years. The staff is very professional and handles all aircraft pilots and passengers with efficiency and professionalism. Both avgas and turbine fuel are available. They only take credit cards for fuel, landing fees, visa fees, and parking. Multi-entry permits require cash, either pesos or dollars. The staff is very accommodating. Emailing your information a day or two ahead of your arrival will speed up the entry process. They resurfaced the runway in February 2022. I recommend San Felipe for GA operations.
