Phoenix Sky Harbor is my 2nd home airport. The terminals are wide and airey with large windows for natural light and great views of the nearby mountain ranges. Variety of restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores- multiple restrooms and a very comfortable footprint to get around to other terminals, baggage, parking etc.... may take a couple visits to get lay of the land and surrounding airport property for both arrivals and departures, but should be one of your favorites for ease, calmness and comfortability

✈️🌵🌞🛫🛄🛬Nicknamed America’s Friendliest Airport, and although my interactions with staff were limited, they all seemed to live up to that name. The airport is filled with natural light, moving walkways, and plenty of local flair. There’s also the beyond-fun Sky Train, which makes getting around — even to the rental car lots — a breeze. One drawback for lounge-goers: you can’t connect between terminals, so keep that in mind when planning your pre-flight time.

Phoenix Sky Harbor is hands down one of the worst-designed major airports in the country. Everything about it feels confusing, dated, and inefficient. The terminals are a nightmare. spread out, disjointed, and connected by endless walkways and bridges that make even short connections feel like a marathon. Each “sub-terminal” only has a few gates, which means you’re constantly funneled through narrow, overcrowded areas that make zero sense for an airport this busy. Once you finally reach your gate, good luck finding a place to sit or charge your phone. There are almost no outlets by the seats, and the few charging stations that exist are shoved against tiny desks. The ceilings are low, the lighting is depressing, and the carpets look like they haven’t been replaced since the 90s. Food options are pathetic. just a couple of overpriced spots per sub-terminal, always with long lines because there’s nowhere else to go. The constant loudspeaker announcements make it even worse. They blare nonstop, often playing sports commentary at full volume instead of relaxing music like literally every other airport manages to do. The bathrooms are small, far apart, and always packed. The whole place feels dirty, chaotic, and outdated. Honestly, Phoenix Sky Harbor is the kind of airport that makes you question who approved the design in the first place. Avoid it if you possibly can.

One of the best airports I’ve ever been to. There is so much space for everything. It is a lot of walking but honestly it’s nice not having tons of people cramped into one space. they have so many restaurants and vendors and things to do while you wait for your plane too. Security was a breeze and they have a separate of for each letter. Like your gate b you have your own security. It was very peaceful and nice. There is also a beautiful view of the planes taking off while you sit.

One of the best airports in the U.S. often called “America’s Friendliest Airport.” The atmosphere truly lives up to the name. The views here are absolutely stunning, especially during sunset. If you’re a fan of scenic moments, you’ll love watching planes take off and land with the glowing desert mountains in the background , it’s breathtaking. Plenty of shopping and dining options near the gates, offering a great variety for every traveler. The airport’s website is very helpful and provides accurate, real-time information, including live TSA wait times. There’s also a great option called PHX Reserve for Terminals 3 and 4, it lets you book a TSA screening slot in advance, saving time and hassle. Definitely worth checking out before you fly!!

✈️ Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) Review I recently flew into Phoenix Sky Harbor and while it’s one of the larger airports in the U.S., my experience felt surprisingly smooth — closer to a smaller airport in terms of efficiency. 🛫 Not the Busiest Even though PHX handles a ton of flights daily, it doesn’t have that chaotic, shoulder-to-shoulder feel you sometimes get at other major airports. Security lines moved quickly, and I didn’t feel overwhelmed by crowds. 🧭 Navigation – A Bit Tricky This is where PHX shows its size. The signage could be better, and it takes a bit of focus to figure out which direction to head, especially in Terminal 3. If you’re new here, you might find yourself second-guessing a turn or two. 🧼 Clean & Well Kept One of the first things I noticed: the airport is clean. From the concourses to the restrooms, everything felt well maintained and tidy — which isn’t always the case at big hubs. 🧳 Terminal 3 Arrival – Long Walk I landed at Terminal 3, and while modern, it does have a long walk to the baggage claim. It’s not terrible, but after a long flight, dragging carry-ons that extra distance feels longer than expected. ✅ Overall PHX combines the efficiency of a smaller airport with the amenities of a bigger hub. Just be ready for a bit of walking and some navigation quirks. Otherwise, it’s a reliable, well-run airport that doesn’t leave you drained before or after your flight.
