Eva Air offers a fantastic travel experience with excellent service provided by professional and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make passengers comfortable. The cabin crew’s attention to detail and warm demeanor stand out as a highlight of the journey. However, the food quality could be improved to better match the overall high standard of service. Despite this, Eva Air remains a reliable and pleasant choice for air travel.

Their check in process is horrible. First, it constantly logs you out, and asks for unusual things (like a scan of your passport rather than just the number). I got an email from them the day before my flight and lost almost an hour trying to make the check in process work online, only to be informed that they couldn't issue my boarding pass after all. Then when I checked in for my first leg, I was told they couldn't issue the boarding pass for later legs and I'd have to sort that out in Seattle. That meant all the good seats were taken, so I got screwed with a bad seat for the trans-Pacific flight. They should put some effort into improving this process.

Avoid this airline at all costs. If you buy the basic economy fare, they will ask you to pay $55 per seat per leg to get an advanced seat assignment. I booked for my wife and 2yr old so when I called to ask if they will at least get seats next to each other at check-in, they said it isnt guaranteed. Imagine seating a 2yr old alone on a 13hr flight. I canceled the flight and submitted a DOT complaint. This airline should be banned.

Eva Air looks like a regular airline until you need to change your flight, and then it turns out to be very different. One, the Eva website balked at changing the flight, coming up with all kinds off nonsense messages. Two, when I tried to call, I got a pleasant-sounding lady on the answering machine, saying: "Due to high volume of calls, we can't take your call right now. Good bye!" 10 times in a row, on two different numbers (national and a local one for Seattle). No attempt to queue the calls and answer them in turn. Three (the best yet!), I then drove to the airport, hoping to change my ticket there. There were about 8 agents checking in customers for a flight, and a "service counter" with a lady busy texting on her phone, not noticing there was a customer who wanted to talk to her. I coughed and she looked up, and proceeded to tell me, together with another agent, that they cannot change my flight at the airport, and that I have to keep on trying to call the number that never answers! When I asked for a supervisor, they just ignored me and walked away. Faced with this much callous indifference, I shall be cancelling my $7,000 business class flight on Eva and booking with another carrier instead. You should do the same.

My elderly mother was just completely taken care of by all the staff at EVA. I was very nervous to send her overseas on her own but I no longer have that fear because the staff were so hands on and kind hearted. They helped her fill out paperwork and deal with an enormous amount of luggage and they even got her a wheelchair to escort her to her terminal. They did this all with a great attitude and smiling service. I will forever use this airline for future overseas travel out of SeaTac!
