You can tell the income level of the clientele that fly through here...from the leather club chairs to the real plants to the pricey luggage just sitting, unattended on a carousel. Everyone but the American counter staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Even the Avis/Budget rental staff were great! On a side note, even during the shutdown, the TSA agents were so incredibly friendly and helpful it actually threw me. They asked how I was, got my bins out for me, and interacted on a friendly manner. It was a joy to fly in this airport.

I love this airport because you're in and out so quickly. It's small and hosts some great flight routes for smaller airlines throughout the country. I routinely travel back and forth from Florida to Michigan and it's very convenient

I love this airport- the desk/gate/baggage/tarmac crew are awesome (*all the same peeps). So why the 3 star review? The Cafe sucks. The food is gas station quality at luxury dining prices. $14 for a cheeseburger marked 2:00 @ 6:00. Plus, I hate when the cashiers say "it's gonna ask you a question" with all innocence. Pro-tip: cashiers- say this: "it's going to ask off you'd like to add a tip- feel free to skip". I'm FAR more inclined to be generous when it feels genuine.

There is not enough seating in this airport. It was easy to get into but we taxied/set on the runway for over 20 minutes after we landed. The security was very quick. Eat before you come to the airport. Great way to get to Traverse City and Leelanau County
