CX is the way to go for me when traveling to Asia and I don’t want to spend to much money. I also want pleasant service, good food and a good recline, unlike some of the US airlines that give you much attitude. I like CX seats, the recline is insanely good. While I do enjoy other Asian airlines, I do like Cathay and will pick them time and time again. Travelers complain of delays, but all airlines delay.

I booked tickets on Sunday September 28,2025. 2 people myself and friend. We split payment and was told by Cathay Pacific the travel was set. Next day I checked my bank and found out Cathay Pacific denied my card and return the fee. Meanwhile they said flight status is confirmed and ready to go. I called Cathay Pacific and got nothing but excuses from Monday September 29,2025 until today Thursday October 2,2025. In fear of not traveling we booked another flight on our on with expedia. Cathay Pacific doesn’t want to take the blame for this. We paid more than we paid for Cathay Pacific booking and they don’t seem to care. Consider your travel plans when flying, don’t get into a situation like this.

01-21-2025 We flew Cathay Pacific Airlines for connecting flight CX 893 San Francisco to Hong Kong. There was so much food. I felt as though I was at a buffet. They provided 2 meals. For dinner I had chicken mushroom and breakfast, shrimp congee. In between, I took advantage of the complimentary ramen cup of noodles. Warmed my tummy :)

Flew from SFO to HK in premium economy class. First off, premium economy gets you a separate check-in desk. Considering they only have around 28 prem econ seats, it gets you a smaller line. Super appreciated! Additionally, prem econ has its own line for boarding, so you get to board right after business, but before regular econ class. It does give you that extra bit of time to get your items into the overhead bins and sit before more people board. I'm 6'3" and need leg room. If you are similar, bulkhead seating gives you pretty much exit row leg room. I could reach the wall with my foot only if I was fully stretched and the chair reclined 100%. Not sure if econ gets this, but prem econ gets an overnight bag with socks, tooth brush and paste, eye mask (small!), and ear plugs. The meals were better than I was expecting. I enjoyed the black tea they serve, no real bitter after taste, and the Besty beer they carry is formulated for drinking in an airplane. It's a blonde ale and was enjoyable. Highly recommend taking the prem econ for such long flights.

-Flew economy SFO to HK 45mins delayed. -Inside the plane: TOO TIGHT AISLE, SEATS COMPRESSED TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER, if ur CLAUSTROPHOBIC, may NOT suit you. -Seats NOT exactly what Id call smelling fresh. Front pocket all messed up. Traces of prior user still there. -Toiletries NONE. No toothbrush..,nothing. -Dinner served 3hrs after takeoff. We were all starving. I had to chew few pieces of gum to relieve my hunger. -in fairness, Dinner (spicy beef stew) real good! -Breakfast ok. Served 2hrs b4 touchdown, served hurriedly. -NO in btwn meals. YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. -TRANSFER @HK AIRPORT to another plane going Manila took 11/2hrs!!! THE LONGEST TRANSFER TRIP I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! SEVERAL LONG WALKS; 6 STEEP ESCALATOR RIDES; 2 walkalator rides (dont know what they’re called); 2 Tram rides. OVERALL IT TOOK 11/2 HRS TO DO THAT TRANSFER. HK TO MLA. I SWEAR NOT RIDING SFO TO MLA CATHAY PLANE EVER AGAIN! NOT RECOMMENDED TO SENIORS LIKE MYSELF.
