Had a flight to Jamaica before the hurricane hit. It was past the date for flight insurance and all American Airlines will do is move my flight back 7 days... They are taking advantage of people during a disaster. Disgusting policy and no regard for their customers.

Horrible service, very rude crew in charleston airport, grabbing the carryon at gate and forcing to checkin without allowing time to take the valuables also. if we ask a minute for taking the valuables out, they denied boarding .

Please for the love of God do not fly with American Airlines if your job depends on it. Do NOT fly with AA if you are on business. Got here at 11 for a delayed flight that was supposed to fly out. My connection flight took off before I even landed and then I wouldn't get to my destination until 1143pm. Originally it was supposed to be at my destination at 4 pm ish. These delays were due to MECHANICAL issues with the aircraft. I tried getting a meal voucher and was told I couldn't because my original flight was not delayed 3 hrs. Jesus I was supposed to get to my destination at 4pm and I couldn't because their connection flight never showed up due to MECHANICAL issues.

My flight got delayed because of weather and I was trying to book a different flight. I was told by three different American Airline employees at the Charleston Airport that I would be accommodated for the delay with a hotel and a more convenient flight for my travel. I found out later when I called customer service they completely lied to me and gave me false hope I would have a place to sleep that wasn't an airport and a better flight home. Instead I'm now pulling an all nighter in an airport and getting home 16 hours later than I was supposed to. This was my first trip on a airplane alone and I can confidently say I will never fly with American Airline again unless I absolutely have to.

The absolute worst flying experience we've had in decades. American planes seem to constantly be down for maintenance reasons. Even if the plane is on time and the weather is good, American will still find a way to make your travel experience the absolute worst it could be. It was raining in Dallas and they decided that it would be a good idea to leave our car seat to get absolutely soaked so our infant could be woken up by a drenched, cold car seat at 2:30 in the morning after getting in five hours late. But that's after they just canceled our flight from the previous day. We will NEVER fly American again. Their lack of care and concern for our bags and probably for our well-being due to maintenance constantly having to be done on the fly which only tells me their maintenance crews don't know what the they're doing either. Ryan Air is the worst European airline that ranks probably about like Spirit Airlines in the US. I would happily fly on either one of those to multiple destinations before giving American Airlines another dime. If you can help it in any way shape or form do not fly American Airlines. Between their lousy customer service and their old planes that constantly need maintenance do yourself a favor and fly someone else even if it's more money. We sure will from now on.
