I had such a great time on my day pass with United Club! It was so very relaxing and convenient that I’m investing in a yearly membership- it would be great if they offered a military/ veteran membership. I’ve often thought it would be great to have clubs like this open their doors to traveling disabled veterans who have layovers of over 2 hours while traveling for wellness to retreats or medical care. USO doesn’t always have space capacity and is intended for active duty and even only allows military retired on a space available basis. I know some airlines have done so in larger airports. Even a reduced one day pass would be an awesome addition. What I loved most about the San Diego Club was the staff- the entry clerk was a delightful man that was a joy to speak with! The place is clean and who doesn’t love a single serve, made to order gelato machine? I also enjoyed the breadth of healthy options for snacks and lite fare. I don’t drink while traveling but many were enjoying the full, top shelf bar. The seating is varied and comfortable- allowing a very relaxing experience, the option to a more traditional table top dining experience or a high top seating option perfect for people watching while responding to emails. All in all- my sister’s one day pass gift is turning into a membership that I look forward to using all over the world.

The space was well-appointed and attractive. The bathrooms were roomy and very clean. The food was above the average United Lounge food (I frequent IAD for reference) but still can't beat Delta/Sapphire/Centurion. The gelato was a fun addition that made things more memorable. The service is what inspired me to write a review today though. Daniel with the lounge was incredibly professional, helpful, and patient this evening. I was amazed he handled such a busy space so well. Whether he was chatting up a person who was having trouble with the gelato machine directions, helping people find the best drink for their needs, or helping to clean between serving folks he did everything with a smile and it made the place feel more welcoming and cheery than any lounge experience I've had in years. Go Daniel!

Great lounge experience at United in San Diego! Why? They have gelato, check out the photo, period. Every traveler, adults, and children can use gelato to cheer them up … easing the stress of travel, and having something to look forward to. Go United, delicious move, well done! ☺️

I have to say that this club had the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered. Not sure why she felt that she should talk down to me and the couple ahead of me. She basically interrogated me as if I were trying to “sneak” in. And when the other couple stated that the club was full, she seemed delighted to turn us down. Not sure who she thinks she she is but that’s no way to treat a client. I have been unable to use my passes six times now. Perhaps I should fly with another airline.

United Club has limited seating and is accessible via elevator on the second floor. Food was good, but Illy machine was broken. They do have Illy cold brew “on tap” at the bar. Unique self serve gelato experience was very nice.
