First flight with spirit and never again. On the way home they never loaded my fishing rods onto the plane. I had a tournament that I PAID to participate in and needed those rods but that was the least of their worries. (Mind you there’s about 4 other people next to me who are also missing luggage from the same plane). The lady tells me they will deliver it to my house, so I give her my address. They call the next day and say my luggage is at the AIRPORT. First off I don’t drive, second off the airport is over an hour away. And they won’t deliver it to me because I didn’t pay the extra liability money, even though I said I have no problem paying shipping. Only thing they want to hear is $$$. I first had to pay $85 for the checked-bag when they didn’t even LOAD it onto the plane so why am I paying money for things that aren’t even being done!? Then I have to go all the way out of my way because you guys messed up? I work the next week after coming back from vacation I don’t understand why they are so difficult all I asked was to deliver my stuff to me and I’ll pay the money because I can’t make it to the airport after they made the mistake of never loading my luggage onto the plane. Please, for your sake just pick another airline

If you are buying tickets at the counter, check them well, even though if you give all the correct information. Lady at the counter booked my parents arrival flight to the wrong city!!!! Terrible terrible airline!!!! The worst!!!! Waiting at the airport for more than 8 hours. Delayed flight. No food voucher, nothing, food concession super expensive!! $4.00 for a bag of $1.00 Cheetos, 3.99 for a $1.00 drink. The air conditioner is all the way up it is freezing in here! People at the counter rude. Worst experience! Traveling with my two daughters and husband.

Spirit recently changed my departing flight by 1 day. changed my returning flight by 2 days, and then they sent me an email a few days ago saying they canceled my departing flight and will give me a reservation credit. I waited on hold on the phone for 45 minutes. While talking to the manager over the phone, he said he couldn't hear me and was disconnecting. This happened twice which leads me to believe the manager just did not want to deal with my situation. Will never use this airline again.

I have been flying Spirit for 15 or so years now. Make no mistake, Spirit is a discount airline. They cut expenses to provide the lowest fares. The way I would rate them is thusly. Planes: They use Airbus planes. These are not my favorite. I prefer Boeing aircraft which tend to be a bit roomier and have lower interior sound levels. Unless you pay for big front seats, you will be crammed in like the proverbial sardine. The aircraft staff and gate staff have always been very nice and professional. Their problem area is with customer service. It's dreadful. I'll give you two examples: 1. I was trying to fly to St. Louis. Using their web site I could see that they had planes coming out of there but could not book a flight using any other airport as a transfer. So I called. The representative insisted that no Spirit planes flew into St. Louis from anywhere yet acknowledged that they had flights OUT of that airport. I asked here if they were building the planes there. She didn't get it. Recently I had to cancel a flight. I followed their guidelines and cancelled more than 24 hours before the flight using their web site. I was informed by email that I would receive a refund in between three to five days. A week went by with no refund. I called and after being on hold for 53 minutes (I timed it) was told by one of their representatives (who was very difficult to understand due to a thick accent) that my money had been deposited into my bank account. My account said otherwise. I contacted my bank and they confirmed this. Long-story-short: I still have gotten no refund more than a month later. The last two calls to Spirit had an agent saying that I would get no refund because I was a no-show and did not cancel my flight at all. Another call to a supervisor said that I did indeed cancel and they had refunded the money. She even gave me the transaction number. My next call was to the bank to file a complaint.

Terrible experience at the ticket counter. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and seemed miserable to be there. It’s easy to see why the company’s having such a hard time.
