TSA was too aggressive to my husband, wanted him to remove bandage and handed him a clear cane then took it away in the scanner. I said he has poor balance so you may not be want to make him hold his hands up. They did anyway, twice. Big PR push around here for this airport, now I know why. Not enough people working here, except TSA which has 3x too many. It was small and easy to navigate so that gave is that second star.

Very nice small airport. 6 gates and a coffee shop. Quick security line as well and friendly TSA staff.

The staff at the Rochester airport are the best we have ever encountered. The security agents were kind and helpful. Mr. Schultz in particular was very kind and accommodating and helped my unsteady husband all the way through security and to our gate! So much appreciated.

Having recently traveled through Rochester International Airport, I was struck by its unique character. It's clear that this airport serves a very specific and important purpose, deeply intertwined with the presence of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic. Here's what stood out to me: 1. Ease of Navigation: RST is a smaller, regional airport, which translates to incredibly smooth navigation. Security lines were quick, and getting to my gate was a breeze. This is a huge plus, especially for those who might be experiencing travel-related stress or have mobility concerns. 2. The Mayo Clinic Connection: The airport's connection to the Mayo Clinic is undeniable. I noticed a dedicated Mayo Clinic information desk, which is a truly valuable resource. It's reassuring to know that medical assistance and information are readily available. This is a unique feature that you will not find in most airports. For many who are traveling to Rochester, the Mayo Clinic is the primary reason for the trip. So having information readily available is very helpful. 3. A Focus on Functionality: While RST might not boast the extensive amenities of a major hub, it excels in functionality. The airport is clean, well-maintained, and designed for efficient travel. It is important to remember that this airport is designed to get people in and out, with as little stress as possible. 4. Rochester's Unique Charm: Rochester itself is a fascinating city, known not only for the Mayo Clinic but also for its surprisingly vibrant cultural scene. Even within the airport, you get a sense of the city's focus on healthcare and hospitality. Overall, If you're traveling to Rochester, especially for a visit to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester International Airport provides a convenient and stress-free gateway. Its small size is a major advantage, and the presence of the Mayo Clinic information desk is a testament to the airport's commitment to serving its unique clientele. While it may not be the most bustling airport, it is certainly one of the most efficient.
