O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago is one of the busiest airports in the U.S., featuring a large, modern layout with clear signage. The Southwest check-in area is clean, and staff are friendly and efficient. Although it can get crowded, the security process is well-organized and moves smoothly. It’s best to arrive early since security lines can be long during peak hours. The waiting areas are comfortable, with plenty of cafés, fast food options, and convenient charging stations.

I recently traveled through Chicago O’Hare Airport and had a great experience. I flew out of Terminal 5, and everything went smoothly. Security was quick and efficient, especially since I have TSA PreCheck, which made the process even faster. The terminal was clean, organized, and easy to navigate, with plenty of signs and helpful staff. There were also nice shops and dining options available while waiting for the flight. Overall, it was a pleasant and stress-free airport experience one of the better large airports I’ve traveled through.

⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Experience at O’Hare International Airport! I recently traveled through O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. From check-in to boarding, everything was smooth, well-organized, and professional. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient—especially the TSA team who made security checks fast and stress-free. The airport is very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating areas, charging stations, and clear signage that makes navigation easy, even for first-time visitors. The terminal had a great variety of shops, restaurants, and cafés, with both quick snacks and sit-down options available. I enjoyed a delicious meal while waiting for my flight. The free Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout the terminal, which helped me stay connected and productive. Bathrooms were clean and easily accessible, and I noticed that staff were constantly working to keep public areas tidy. Boarding was on time and well managed, with announcements made clearly and in multiple languages. Overall, O’Hare gave me a very positive travel experience—one of the best I’ve had in the U.S. Highly recommend flying through ORD for its excellent service, amenities, and overall efficiency. I will definitely choose it again in the future!

Review of Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) We recently arrived at Terminal 5 of Chicago O’Hare International Airport, and our experience there was quite good. The terminal is modern, clean, and well organized, with plenty of seating areas, restrooms, and food options. The immigration and baggage claim process was smooth, and airport staff were generally helpful. However, for passengers needing to travel to Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, it’s important to note that the terminals are not directly connected by walking paths. Instead, they are linked by the Airport Transit System (ATS) — a free automated metro service that operates between all terminals and the parking/transportation areas. The ride itself is comfortable, but you may need to wait for a few minutes depending on the schedule. If you are planning to book a taxi, Uber, or Lyft, please remember that pickup zones are mainly located near Terminal 2. So, after landing at Terminal 5, you’ll need to take the metro (ATS) to reach Terminal 2 before arranging your cab. This can take around 15–20 minutes depending on luggage and crowd levels. Overall, Terminal 5 offers a pleasant experience, especially for international arrivals. But travelers connecting to other terminals or needing ground transportation should plan some extra time for the transfer. Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Pros: Clean, modern Terminal 5; efficient immigration and baggage handling. Cons: Distance and time required to reach taxi pickup zones and other terminals.

My first step on U.S. soil was at ORD in 2018, and the experience was great. The airport can get busy, but that’s expected for such a major hub. Once you get familiar with the layout, it’s actually quite efficient. Security lines usually move quickly, and there are plenty of food and coffee options across all terminals. Everything is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, though it can feel a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, a solid airport to arrive, depart, or connect through.

Every minute spent at Chicago O’Hare Airport is a minute of your life you’re actively wishing you could claw back. Time moves differently here — slower, heavier, somehow more punishing — as if the universe itself is encouraging you to rethink your travel choices. O’Hare’s sprawling footprint ensures you’ll spend more time on moving walkways than on your actual flight. Corridor after corridor, beep after boop, neon glow after neon glow — the sensory overload is intense, but unfortunately not intense enough to distract you from the sinking feeling that you’d rather be literally anywhere else. The airport tries to dazzle you with lights, colors, and that bizarre funhouse hallway we all pretend to enjoy, but honey… it’s giving “hostage situation.” The only true constant at ORD? Delays. If your flight isn’t delayed, congratulations — you’ve unlocked a rare Pokémon. To pass the time (and you WILL have time), you can: consume your annual allotment of nitrates at America’s Dog, pretend Ciao Gourmet Market is “gourmet” as you stare down a $14 bag of trail mix with quiet acceptance, or sip a perfectly mediocre glass of wine beneath the dusty wine-glass chandelier at Beaudevin, wondering how a place can be both depressing and overpriced. And then there’s O’Hare’s attempt to incorporate Chicago culture — namely the Chicago Blackhawks–branded gate signage — an effort that comes across less like hometown pride and more like a group project finished at 3 a.m. Truly a clumsy flourish on an already chaotic canvas. But the best part of flying through ORD is the guaranteed 30-minute taxi from gate to runway. Because nothing says “welcome to Chicago” like spending even more time trapped in a metal tube, crawling along the tarmac at the speed of existential dread. Who doesn’t love a nice long drive after a flight? Chicago O’Hare: Come for the convenience, stay because you have no choice.
