Great people at this airport, good parking and rental car setup. But baggage claim is consistently a 45 minute to 1.25 hour wait. Need to INVEST much more in current team of handlers before worrying about expansion of services. Writing this as I wait yet again for my luggage tonight…

Bloated US security laws aside, whoever runs TSA at RDU is the most competent admin of this org I’ve ever encountered. The precheck line this morning went outside of the entire waiting area, fully doubled back into two lines. Certainly, I thought, I’d miss the flight that had started boarding when I parked my car. But no - I was through security in 12 minutes and would’ve been through in 8 if I’d gotten a better lane. When I’m traveling through authoritarian states like New Jersey, I can spend 40 minutes in security on a good day, but never at RDU - even without precheck, travelers can depend on a 20 minute wait tops. I do not know the nameless technocrat who has delivered us this kindness, but my gratitude is boundless. It is difficult to select for competence in public sector jobs, and so I can only thank the greatest luck, or perhaps divine intervention, for blessing us with the most competent public sector performance I have ever seen. Thank you, sir, ma’am, whoever you are. We may never meet face to face, but please know that you have made countless lives incalculably better through your tireless and efficient management of the Raleigh Durham TSA.

Arrived on time and took airport staff 15 minutes to move equipment so that the plane could reach the gate; getting luggage to carousel always takes longer than similar size airports; ground staff is totally incompetent

The RDUAA's new Sustainability program is a farce. They have NOT engaged the community and they are destroying land deeded to the public by putting a rock quarry on land next to Umstead State Park instead of selling it to the State Park system. They lie when they say they cannot sell land. They won't sell because the quarry will benefit their friends and their pockets.
