Great little airport! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and I took a flight on Contour airlines to and from Chicago- super comfortable planes, and an outstanding flight attendant. Even though it was quite cloudy, take off and landings were incredibly smooth. Thanks OWB!

We arrived thirty minutes before our flight with Contour Airlines on 6/30 and there was no gate agent to get us checked in. 5 TSA agents were just hanging out and refused to help us with anything, basically saying that we were out of luck. We could literally see the plane out the back and apparently they had no time to grab the gate agent who was right outside on the plane! Now the plane has left and we’re stuck on our own with 2 children.

The airshow almost started.... Unfortunately the rain decided it was more important than what we wanted. Did get to see fireworks in the day of that even a thing.

I truly want to support my local airport and fly OWB, but after FOUR separate attempts, I can no longer recommend it. Each time I’ve flown, I’ve experienced significant delays (2+ hours), resulting in missed connections and extremely stressful travel. I understand these delays are with Contour, but even when I previously flew Allegiant to BNA, I didn’t encounter these issues. I travel frequently for work, and reliability is critical when I need to be somewhere at a specific time. When I expressed my concerns, the agent at the counter told me there’s “only a 20% delay rate” and I must have “hit them all.” Honestly, that response only added to my frustration—20% is not an acceptable delay rate for business travelers who depend on consistent service. Sadly, I’ll now plan to drive to EVV or BNA for my flights going forward.

I have never had an airport experience as awful as the one I had yesterday at the Owensboro airport, and I am a frequent traveler that has been in a LOT of different airports. First the flight was delayed 2.5 hours (don't even get me started on Contour Airlines) because the plane hadn't even left the airport it was coming from. I tracked the plane online to know exactly when it was arriving, and I got to the airport as it arrived and at least 10 minutes before it even unboarded. However, the security area was completely dark and locked up. No airline representative present, no TSA agents to be seen. I got the gate agent's attention and asked for help, and he said he'd be with me shortly. He facilitated the unboarding of the plane that had just arrived, and he went back to paying me no attention. Starting to get nervous, I got his attention again and asked for him to get someone to let me through security. He then proceeded to rudely tell me that that wasn't going to happen because there were no TSA agents present at the airport. Long story short, I missed the flight that I was completely on time for simply because I arrived after the TSA agents decided to leave early for the day. Why did they leave early, you may ask? Because they claimed they checked their list and it said all passengers were present. There were five total people on this flight...how can you possibly overlook that there is someone missing?? Also, this meant that there were no TSA agents present while there were still passengers in the airport - I don't care that this airport is the size of a high school gym, that has got to be breaking some kind of law to not have them there while there are still passengers coming in and out of the facility. What this amounts to, at the end of the day, was lazy oversight on the part of the Owensboro airport employees, and because they refused to help me in this incredibly stressful situation, I had to switch to the next day and miss work as a result. This was a humiliating, frustrating, and disappointing experience, and I will absolutely never recommend flying through this airport to anybody.
