Flew in here once from Lake Elmo (21D) and I assume it was a local pilot from here in Owatonna that was very nice and communicated well when I entered the pattern! Nice wide open area for the airport location!

This airport and FBO is GREAT! The staff is professional and friendly and their fuel prices are fantastic, UNLIKE Signature at KRST. I found this little gem after being fleeced flying into Signature in Rochester in a jet. It’s an easy 45 min highway drive (I used Destiny Limo for a town car ride) to Mayo and I saved $2.00 per gallon x 500 gallons. That’s SO worth it, to say nothing if you actually need a hangar for a night! Signature’s charges are ridiculous; here is extremely fair! Plus, the staff is friendly, unlike other places mentioned. It’s my second time flying into this airport and I’ll fly here every time I come to Mayo. We pilots need to support these smaller, more affordable airports and FBO’s. The people who don’t care how much money they spend on fuel can go to the bling FBO’s.
