This airport honestly exceeding my expectations. It was really hassle free. They had great food options, like ZAZA as well as healthier food options like Natures Table. The airport was clean. The best part was the kids area that had cushioned flooring as well as animal statues that were cushioned for kids to climb - and near the kids area they have chairs for parents and chargers. Great experience that makes me want to utilize the airport more in the future

Eh. Fine as fair as airports go. My primary beef was that they have near to no chain restaurants. AND I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING: "Ugh, Reagan, who comes to complain about there being no chain restaurants in an airport." ME! ME! When the alternatives are being stuck here with only the crappiest, smallest, poor attempts at dining. It's a small beef, but one I feel like could easily be solved with some expected and decent food. The food options are very much "hospital food" options, and that's my being pretty optimistic about it. Because they're a small airport, I felt like there were plenty of seating options, it was pretty clean, and TSA was a quick and easy experience. However, I'll never miss a chance to gripe about people who choose to put random, weird restaurants in a place where people are forced to be. UGH. Now it makes sense why the food is bad. They know it is bad. They need a captive audience to make sales. Sigh.

Orlando Sanford International Airport is a hidden gem for travelers heading to Central Florida. Located about an hour’s drive (roughly 43 miles) from Walt Disney World, it’s a smooth, scenic trip that’s well worth it for the stress-free experience this airport offers. Unlike the busy Orlando International Airport, SFB is smaller, quieter, and incredibly easy to navigate. What really makes SFB stand out is how quick and simple everything is—from check-in to security to boarding. The lines are short, the staff is friendly, and you’re not overwhelmed by crowds. For families with kids or anyone who values convenience, this airport is a game-changer. SFB is a major hub for Allegiant Air, which offers incredibly affordable nonstop flights to many smaller U.S. cities. It’s not unusual to find round-trip fares under $100, making this a great option for budget-conscious travelers. There’s also a touch of history here—once a Naval Air Station, the airport honors its past with a small but meaningful military memorial inside by ticket counters in Terminal B. All in all, Sanford Airport is clean, efficient, and surprisingly relaxed. If you’re flying into Florida for a theme park vacation or just visiting family, this is a fantastic alternative to the chaos of bigger airports.

We spent a lot of time here involuntarily. The airport is lovely. It's small, easy to navigate, the staff are nice, and it is not a crowded place. What stopped us from leaving was poor maintenance. They could not start our Allegiant plane - the planes APU must have been INOP. So they brought in a huffer cart to start it. We were all boarded and waiting for a start. It turns out, that cart was broken, so they brought in another one. That one was also broken. So they brought in a third - and that was broken as well. This was in the middle of the night. They called maintenance, but in the meantime, the crew of our plane ran over their hours and had to leave. So we had to deplane and leave the airport What an adventure.

Most check-in agents just rush you through, but Alyssa was the total opposite : friendly, helpful, and actually cared. She answered all my questions without getting irritated and helped me with my booking like it was no trouble at all. She even complimented my nails while we chatted (small thing, but it made the interaction feel genuine, not robotic). I travel almost every week, and it’s not often you come across agents like her. The Sanford airport itself is one of my favorites, it's easy to navigate, clean, and never overly crowded and having someone like Alyssa at the counter just makes it even better.

Traveling with a newborn is no joke, but Alyssa at the Allegiant check-in counter in Sanford made everything so much easier. She was patient, kind and went above and beyond to help me book my flight after driving all the way from Orlando. She even asked if I needed help lifting my heavy luggage; something most agents don't even think to do. I was honestly touched by how caring and calm she was. She truly made a stressful travel day feel manageable. I hope I get her the next time I check-in for my future flights!

The airport is clean, but lacks family restrooms facilities within the concourses. I asked airport staff and they indicated there is only 1 after you pass thru security. So good luck if your departing from gate 14 and your grandkids need to use the restroom.

This airport is small with not very much traffic so it is unlikely for your flight to be delayed. Plus there isn’t that many people around in the gate areas so it doesn’t feel crowded, but one thing I do not like is the lack of food options and how it says it’s Orlando Sanford airport when it isn’t very close to Orlando. Otherwise if you’re looking for an airport in the Orlando area that isn’t busy and you like allegiant this is the airport for you!
