Our 7:20 am flight was announced "delayed" because the plane had "internal communication challenges" that they were unable to fix... this was told to us *after* we boarded, and we were stuck on the plane - unable to de-plane unless we wanted to lose our seat. After the 1st hour (of a 3.5 hour delay), a member of the service crew finally offered a tiny bottle of water for the inconvenience. We were told to go to the app to change connecting flights (if any exist), but you will not be able to select seats until you arrive at your destination airport. Upon finally arriving, they placed me in the back rows of the plane and would NOT refund the upgraded seat I originally purchased!! HORRENDOUS customer service! I am completely disappointed with what was once a decent airline experience. Will NOT be booking again if I can avoid it!

Recently got delayed here in Spokane. WHICH HAPPENS AND I UNDERSTAND. Delay was 43 minutes but my layover (before the delay) in Seattle was only 41 minutes. I found this out like 2 hours early, when there were two other flights (just with delta, I dunno about other airlines) I could have potentially got on that would have made me on time to that flight. I tried talking to a Delta person who just finished boarding another flight. Said she couldn’t help me but there would be another person there shortly. 2 HOURS LATER THERE WAS STILL NOBODY TO TALK TO. So then it was too late to see if those other flights were full or not. While I waited for a delta person to show up I tried calling delta and ended up messaging someone. So they connected me to a flight that arrived at my destination 5 1/2 hours later than the other. I get that they can’t control weather and that. But I could have probably been on time with the other flights. THEN, insult to injury, ZERO compensation. No meal voucher, no credit. Nothing. So arrival was supposed to be midnight but ended up being 5:30 am. I wasn’t expecting a refund for my ticket. But I should get something, right? Stuck at Seattle 5 hours longer than originally expected. It would have added a star for a meal voucher. Add another if I felt like they actually cared. 5 stars if that first person actually took 5 minutes to listen to what I tried to say. They want happy customers who come back and are willing to spend a little extra, or they don’t care? Apparently the second choice. Well now Delta is my last choice when it comes to flying to Seattle from Spokane

Recently, many airlines have reduced meal and snack services, but I appreciate how Delta airlines now offers a variety of flight-fuel snack choices. A couple of things to keep in mind: If you tend toward high blood pressure and/or having your feet and ankles swell on longer flights, opt for lower-sodium snacks like almonds, chocolate covered almonds, fruit bar, and applesauce. Leave most of the olives, cheese, hummus and crackers to those who don’t tend to retain water and actually feel better with saltier snacks. For beverages, if you retain water, opt for drinking water, fruit juice, Teavana herbal tea, decaf coffee, or Ginger ale. Seltzer water (Club soda) contains a 75mg per 12oz can compared to 26mg sodium in Ginger ale. Alcohol increases fluid retention so consider alternative options, and more than 1-2 cups of regular coffee may contribute to dehydration in caffeine-sensitive people (sorry Starbucks - I still love you). Delta’s flagship snack “Biscoff cookie”(which I love) is quite high in sodium at 464mg - if you eat both cookies in a 4 ounce package. Delta could step up their game by offering fresh or dried fruit and unsalted nuts-seeds (non-peanut due to allergies), particularly since so many passengers struggle with fluid/water retention on flights. Thanks for reading my dietitian diatribe.

Terrible experience. Flight left Denver late for Seattle and I missed my connecting flight. My suitcase was not sent out with the other luggage upon arrival. Now I'm in Seattle waiting to go to Denver and the flight is delayed for at least an hour They didn't assign my seats until I was boarding the plane in Spokane. This has been a terrible experience. All these issues on two flights within three days is not acceptable.

It was an experience even worse than the cheaper airlines like spirit. The gates changed without notice. At the gate we were told the overhead bin was full for our carryon luggage, although it was apparently not. Once we got on the plane, an attendant told us in exact words “these are not your seats, these are 18 C and D, you need to move ”. But our tickets shows we are sitting on the right ones. So I showed her our ticket and she said “the ticket on wallet is not updated you need to update” like it’s our problem. Turns out we were moved to row 11 without any notice. Entire conversation we were treated like we stole someone else’s seat. Someone also asked to check my ID on plane. (WHY??) Worst experience ever and won’t fly Delta again. Avoid Delta by all means.
