I rented an SUV for the weekend in SATX, and the outside of the truck was unremarkable, but there was a lot of dog hair in the trunk, even near the transmission lever. I'm an animal lover. I have three dogs at home, but I don't understand why there aren't clear rules regarding car use when you have pets. Fortunately, no one in my family is allergic, but it could be dangerous if someone is and rents a car like that.

Took well over an hour to make it through the line and this was during the middle of the week! Not a fan that Avis, Budget, and Payless are all run out of the same counter. They only have 2-3 employees covering at a time and each transaction took way too long even considering they were only serving customers with reservations (because they ran out of cars). I will definitely not be using Budget again. The few dollars on savings over the other companies is not worth the inconvenience of the insanely long wait.

If I could give San antonio airport location a "0", I would. Right from the get go...signage at airport says car returns. Nothing about car rental. We prepaid to avoid problems. They gave us a hybrid car...DIDN'T want an EV!! They charged $250 upon checking the car out. We returned the car a day early and it was not prorated...did not get that money back after having to go into the airport and waiting in line, the "manager" at budget rental said we would have to call budget. HELLO! You're a manager for budget! Upon returning car, they charged an ADDITIONAL $250!! It eventually fell off tge account, but i have NEVER had such trouble! I will go Enterprise next time! Worst experience EVER!!

Piss poor rental. I don’t mind the scratches all over the truck, but prepaying for a 4x4 truck at $900 for two weeks and having two flats back to back on tires that are less than 50% of tire tread really is annoying and 40% of oil life on the vehicle is a concern especially driving across Texas for spring break vacation, Trying to have a family vacation and dealing with tire repairs sucks. Of course you have to pay for the tire repairs as stated in the rental agreement but seriously wish a 4x4 would have better tires instead of basic street tires. So much for camping in peace. Update 3/22/25 truck has no oil now and had to add 5qts to the truck, and another flat tire. All the tires are cracking in the center. GOOD luck with an English speaking customer representative, they are no help whatsoever!

Reprehensible company. Will never use them again. First they issued me a car with an expired registration, so I got pulled over with a warning. I called them and told them about their mistake. They told me to come in to their office and speak with someone there. Obviously, I said 'no way you guys will deliver the registration to me, I already have a warning on your expired tag.' The rep (who could barely speak English) said 'ok' ... and trasferred me to their roadside assistance 3rd party, who obviously can do nothing to solve my problem. The roadside assistance literally started laughing. I'm still trying to solve this problem. Avoid this company at all cost.

I will be honest, renting with budget has been the absolute worst experience of my life, from the moment I got to the counter, to even now while still having the rental. Every vehicle has scratches, dings, paint missing, & some type of mechanical issue. I have swapped out the vehicle so far 3 times & still am not happy. One of their vehicles a 2023 Jeep grand Cherokee, dents all over the damn door and scratches everywhere, even weed inside the vehicle left me stranded on the side of the road for 9 hours straight until my insurance company came & towed the vehicle, just for them to put me in another garbage vehicle but I had no choice, either drive another hooptie or report to my duty station late, which you know is not viable, especially since I’m a army nurse. I only rented because USAA insisted I do it through them & that was a big mistake. Very unhappy and it’s not over yet, after getting the vehicle towed, they said I would get charged for gas even though I couldn’t put gas, cause you know, the CAR DIED !!
