I was forced to check my carry-on because the extended space zipper broke. The bag was not full, neither was the overhead space on the Airbus A331. I cannot believe the ridiculousness of not being able to have a carry-on on American Airlines anymore. I had no other bag, had to carry my lithium batteries by hand, a totally illogical policy thanks to this airline's poorly trained personnel and contractors.

I was forced to check my carry-on because "overheads were full" so pretty much a 50-year legacy of xmas ornaments are crushed, nevermind having to wait 30 min. on luggage given I NEVER check a bag. Guess what?!? I'm on board and took pics as I walked diwn the aisle. There's room for roughly 25 carry-ons at max size. I went back and they would not let me pick up my bag be the door where mine was collected. WHAT A LOAD OF GARBAGE!!! LIED TO COMPLETELY!!! DISHONEST!!! I will be raving mad when I land and am going to boycott AA and tell every faculty member and student the rest of my life precisely what dishonest dealings deserve. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY FLIGHT SO MEMORABLE.

If you value your tune or anyone else time. Please don't not use this airline for cargo purposes. Out of all the airline cargo terminals. AA has to be the absolute worst. The average in-out time is about 30 to 45 minutes slower than the others. Totally unacceptable. Most of the staff is professional at their job. But there is a major disconnect. From time of drop-off to getting your receipt. Update: it appears they are getting better at the check-in/ checkout process. Today 8/10/24 was a good experience. Very smooth and clean in out less that 15 mins. Thank you

I gotta say. I’m torn. I received near excellent customer service today. From the gate agent that took care of me and answered my questions with confidence that I was taken care of, to Awesome flight staff, supper friendly and engaging. Flight crew was very informative about everything that was going on. I get to my destination and my new suitcase is rip up and got some holes and all my pants and underwear are soaked and now smells mildewed! I have no clean pants or underwear for my vacation! What am I supposed to do while going back! I tired submitting a claim about my suitcase but now it’s saying it can’t find my locator info after I type and added all my photos…. the site says I need to go back to the airport to file and retrieve my claim? I’m 2 hours away towards my vacation. Im not about to go to and then back when I have a limited time here with my family !😡 I’m really upset … American… make this right please….

This is review is for AA check-in counter, not cargo. The customer service agent Albert does not have the skills, competency, or professionalism to work in customer service. He did not take the time to listen to the situation before making assumptions and coming to the premature and inaccurate decision that I did not have the necessary paperwork to make my flight. Zero attempts were made to understand the situation or problem solve with me. The word mansplaining was created with Albert in mind. Albert requires fingers to count to 4, and still incorrectly believes September to Jan is 3 months. Quotes from Albert included, “I’m speaking, you’re not,” “I’ve only been wrong once or twice in my career,” “if you interrupt me again you will not be getting on this plane,” and “I deal with the transport of weapons” (with no context or discernible relevance to the situation). He repeatedly referred to me (a woman in my 30s) as a girl. He raised his voice when no one else did. Albert robbed my family and me of precious moments to say goodbye before I made a permanent international move. Albert did not provide anything resembling customer service. Albert was wrong. In spite of Albert, I made my flight. Albert is not a supervisor, no supervisor was on site, and Albert is not an individual who should be working in a customer facing (or mathematics involving role) without direct supervision. On the other hand, Angela was calm, helpful, empathetic and kind. She embodied what customer service should be.
