    Alamo Rental was AMAZING.!!! Very Friendly, Helpful & Highly Professional Staff. Had No Issues Whatsoever Getting My Rental It Was a Beautiful Brand New SUV, It Was Immaculate W/Full Tank! I Was In & Out Within Minutes!! Thank you so much Alamo for Making Our Vacation LESS Stressful, Definitely Using Y’all On Our Next Trip and Highly Recommending You Guys! Very Happy Customers ❤️

    It's been a while since I last rented from Alamo (I mostly rent from another company), so I can't remember how my previous experiences were. I can say that I'm pretty certain my previous experiences weren't bad considering I'm renting from this company again. I figured it was fitting to rent from Alamo since I was visiting San Antonio, but that wasn't the primary reason either - it was just cheaper than the other options. I picked up my rental on 26 Mar 2025 and the entire process was seamless. The employee working the counter, Frances, did a great job in processing my rental and getting us out on the road within a respectable time. I was a little taken back with the deposit amount ($400) for just a 2-day rental and was told that it's because Alamo doesn't run a credit check like some of the other rental companies accomplish. Although I find that difficult to believe, I don't have any evidence to argue with those statements. I'm just used to the $250 deposit at other rental companies...which I don't recall if a credit check was ever accomplished with them. Regardless, I've always been in a mindset to be ready for the unexpected, so the deposit amount was not a roadblock. One of the common occurrences at rental companies that I've experienced is requesting a certain type of vehicle, only to receive a different one at pick-up. Alamo was no different to this; however, the vehicle they gave was decent. I'm just glad that they didn't hand me a vehicle that was significantly different from what was originally requested (e.g., getting a truck or SUV when you've budgeted fuel costs for a compact car, etc.). The vehicle that was provided was clean inside-out with some weird paper towels that were left under the windshield wipers (I presumed it was from wiping the car after the car wash). Also, there were several dents in miscellaneous areas which I identified during the walk-around. I specified those discrepancies on the sheet that was provided and handed the sheet to the gate agent prior to exiting the rental lot. I did find it odd that there was no validation of my identified discrepancies being entered into their system; however, the gate agent did sign the discrepancy sheet and added his employee number on the sheet as well, before handing it back to me. I was just concerned that I was going to be charged for the damages that I already identified, impacting the full refund of my deposit. That's why I typically don't post my reviews for a rental company until I receive the full refund, especially if I'm not at fault. Needless to say, there were no issues and I confirmed the full refund back on my card. Overall, my experience with this company (at this location) was good - there were no major issues with Alamo. The employees at the counter and the employees in the parking garage (during departure and car return) were all friendly and attentive, which I was thankful for. I'm sure everyone has their positive and negative stories on car rental companies, but thankfully, mine was mostly positive. A defining 4-star experience...I recommend Alamo to everyone!

FRANCES at check-in was extraordinary — calm, sharp, warm, and fast. Not a script-reader, but a real pro who made me feel seen and valued. She should be training staff nationwide. True leadership presence. The woman who walked me to my car (I wish I caught her name) treated me like a guest, not a transaction. She took the time to walk me through everything — no rushing, no pointing vaguely. She was kind, gracious, and helpful in a way that felt genuinely human. That kind of personal touch is rare these days. The vehicle was spotless, smooth, and clearly well-maintained. Full tank. No mystery damage. Everything worked perfectly.     This rental was about perfect from start to finish. The pick-up process was fast and friendly. There were a half dozen or more mid-sized SUV's parked in the garage, I could take my pick. The Corolla Cross that we chose was brand new (less than 200 miles) and it ran perfect for a week and 1,300 miles. Turning it in was equally efficient, it took less than 5 friendly minutes. An excellent rental experience.

    Make sure you check your car very carefully. I received a car w prior damage that someone (not sure the renter or Alamo) tried to repair on their own and did a really bad job. The damage was severe and obvious in daylight but kinda hard to see in the dark garage. You have to look at it at a certain angle to see it. I didn't notice the damage until I stopped for lunch. I called Alamo right away and they let me go back to exchange for a different car. Their claims department still tried to get me to pay for the damage. I had to spend some time explaining the situation to them. They eventually went away.

    I rented a car at this location for a road trip I was taking to Denver. Unfortunately a family emergency cut my trip short, and I had to get on a flight back to San Antonio asap. I had called and talked to maybe 4 people to change the drop off location to the Denver airport, after being told I was going to be charged the full amount of the rental and a $310 return fee on top of it, I was incredibly stressed. I had escalated the situation to multiple people with no success. I had accepted defeat and understood there was no bargaining with them no matter who I spoke to, and since i was stuck with the car I had few options being 1,000 miles away from home. Later that night, I had received a call from the Branch Manager, Jerry who reached out to me on his personal phone and told me that earlier in the day someone had mentioned my issue to him and he was very empathetic and understanding and was able to get me situated with returning the car to Denver airport so that I was able to get back home on a flight. I just want to say thank you Jerry, after this stressful weekend, you were a fresh breath of air. Thank you for your help and understanding.

    We rented a car from Alamo SAT airport via Costco. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Staff was very helpful and friendly. My only problem is I left my small wallet in the car. There is not a direct number to SAT Alamo car rental desk only the main line. I've reported it but being able to speak with someone at the Airport Alamo in real-time would be nice. Just to know if they found it or not. Otherwise, this could take weeks. Hoping it turns up.
