I took a discovery flight recently (my first) and scheduling/booking was simplified and easy. Take off, the flight, and landing were all a success. I had a great time and will definitely pursue a private pilots license but definitely not with the person I flew with and probably not with this school. Here the rub. The pilot was completely disinterested. We headed straight out to the plane before takeoff with minimal conversation and it was the same way after the flight. After the flight, we went straight to the front where she just said bye. I then asked about lessons and she just handed me a paper with prices and said it would be an additional $95/hr for the instructor. I wasn't about to pull teeth to get answers so I just left.

Nicole Sabol was absolutely perfect. If I owned a flight training company, I would definitely without question want her as a flight instructor and/or chief pilot. Totally professional and very personable. She is the best!

Foreign students keep your hands off this school. I got in touch with this school months ahead of my arrival and from the conversation and paperwork that went pretty good upfront I thought, that everything was set up, when I arrive. The opposite was the case. When I arrived on the scheduled date, I waited for over half an hour until someone paid interest in me and when the GM finally arrived, he was quite surprised I was there. Long story short, in 10 days (of which 9 were sky clear excellent flying wheather) I had one flight. Since I came to Florida as a foreign flight student, I had limited time to obtain my rating and I was very precise about this upfront. The school showed zero interest in accomplishing that goal with me and I believe that is a organizational/management problem within this company. So only plan your flight training here in the states, if you want to be disappointed β¦

Absolutely awful Chief pilot and management, they treat their instructors with borderline abuse and no respect to the students. All they care about is money. There are 6 other flight schools at Craig, pick any other flight school and it will be 10x better than Sterling.

After dealing with the nightmare school of A-Cent Aviation, Sterling was a breath of fresh air. Not only did Nathan take the time to get familiar with the area, he went over the gaps in training I had at A-Cent so I was better prepared for my checkride. The Cessna 172s I flew over there are well maintained with most issues resolved in short time. Sterling costs more than what I was paying at A-Cent but it was worth it to finally have a business that took my dream of getting my license seriously.
