This is my favorite dive shop. The staff are very awesome people who are passionate about the sport and always willing to share beta, offer instruction, or answer any ridiculous questions you might have. I did my dry suit course with instructor Nate and came back to do some dives with instructor Carlos and had a blast on both occasions. Whether you're new to the sport or just looking for places to dive in WA, I highly recommend paying these guys a visit.

I recently took a PADI open water dive certification course through the Federal Way Underwater Sports shop. I was incredibly pleased with the results of the class and I would highly recommend working with this shop if you're considering a certification or need equipment. Everyone I've interacted with at the shop has been patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about the sport! I worked primarily with Aaron for my gear and he was my primary instructor throughout the course. I really appreciated his instruction style, as it is very patient (and diving is a sport that requires great patience, especially in the beginning). I never felt particularly rushed by any of the instructors or divemasters and I always felt supported when I was struggling with a skill. Aaron, Jack, Don, Jeff, Jason, and the other dive pros that taught / assisted with the course were all welcoming and made the experience a great one. I was pleasantly surprised at how "not cold" the sound was in the gear I rented from the shop. I have been avoiding doing a scuba certification for years because I didn't want to dive in cold water. But honestly, the experience was great! TLDR highly recommend the shop and their instruction--especially Aaron!

The BEST crew and community for diving is right here! I feel so lucky to have these dive pros in my neighborhood. Took the classes with them to get certified and participate in the weekly club dives and ALL of the staff, DMs, hosts-ALWAYS make me feel safe, offer great advice and have really helped me to be a better diver. I love how diverse and welcoming this community is as well.

I feel very fortunate to have found Underwater Sports in Federal Way. I have been snorkeling for decades and wanted to get SCUBA certified for a very long time. With an upcoming trip to Baja Sur, I decided this was the time and was initially looking at outfits in Mexico when I just so happened to check local prices here in the PNW. I was surprised to find that Underwater Sports offered the most affordable PADI certification I had seen, half the cost of some dive companies in Baja. When I went to check out the shop, I was immediately impressed with the staff, who were all friendly, knowledgeable, & passionate about diving. It felt right, so I booked the Open Water Diver course. This proved to be a very good decision as our instructor, Jaiden, and her assisting Dive Masters (Frank & Jason) were all equally skilled, friendly, and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was professional but never stiff. I was confident that Jaiden and our Dive Masters always knew what they were doing and had our safety as their top priority, but they also were very relatable and easy to talk to. The experience was an entirely positive one, from beginning to end, and while I was already certain that I would love diving, I am now equally certain that I have found a community that I will continue to share that love with. I highly recommend Underwater Sports in Federal Way for anyone interested in crossing over to the other side of the water's surface. It's a beautiful world down there & you couldn't do much better than having the Fed Way crew introduce you to it.

Staff and Instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. While getting open water certified, everyone helped each diver excel. If you're even remotely interested in scuba diving talk to Jaiden at UWS!
