Always wanted to head out to Santa Cruz Island to explore the wonder that it is? Well, a trip with Channel Island Expeditions is the way to do it! On 9.20.25 I joined CIEx on their all day trip to kayak and snorkel on the North end of Santa Cruz Island. What an amazing experience it was to paddle in and out of caves, sensing the rugged exposure and raw elements of the island! At the end of the cave exploration, we were able to snorkel in a tranquil cove. The water quality was incredible! Bright orange Garibaldi ducked in and out of kelp, along with urchins and other sea life. We saw seals, sea lions, sea birds, playful dolphins and even two humpback whales on our return home. Mike and Shawn were friendly, confident, knowledgeable guides on and off the water. Bryson cooked up delicious breakfasts to order and an amazing lunch, topped off with chocolate chip cookies at the end, even making gluten free accommodations for me. And Captain Garrett not only spotted humpback whales on our return to the island, but stopped the boat to fish a balloon out of the water on our return. How awesome to experience a company that cares deeply for the protection of the ocean. I’m so grateful for the experience and returned with a recharged spirit and the happy stoke that comes from being on the ocean all day. Do this trip!

This was truly an epic kayak trip - seeing the islands up close and being able to go into so many sea caves was great. Depending on weather some of the caves were very adventurous, especially the one called “roller coaster” which lived up to its name. Dress in Layers the trip over is cold!

Exploring the Channel Islands by kayaking down Anacapa Island was incredible. Really no words to explain just how wonderful it was! My tour guides Dustin and Sean were awesome, learning the history of the island was unexpected, but I'm so happy that was part of it! Captain Cole, Cooper, Ella, and Bryson were all amazing and made the trip wonderful! Highly recommend this trip, it truly was a one of a kind experience!

Thank you Captain Dave for such wonderful Experience!! You gave me and boyfriend a tour around the harbor and made us feel at ease. The place is really beautiful and such a cool vibe. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit! If you are looking for a good time, this is the place. May I add, he also gave us warm clean blankets when it got cold, how thoughtful is that??!!
