Skier beware: Employees have no idea how to handle ski equipment or snowboards despite them flying daily to Redmond / Bend Oregon. Customer service doesn’t know their own extremely high baggage fees for skis. At Redmond / bend, staff forced me to put my helmet into my checked bag and didn’t allow me to attach it to my backpack like every other airline that flies to ski areas, putting my helmet at risk for impact damage. I told them repeatedly this could permanently damage my helmet or result in me not being protected (MIPS / good for one hit) and they gave no understanding or sympathy that I had no other bag to put it in. Skis, by phone, Avelo told me could go as checked bag standard price then at the counter they said $150 I think each way or maybe round trip but either is absurd and I’ll never fly this BS airline again.

Do not ever go with Avelo Airlines! I was on my way to a funeral. The plane kept getting delayed which is fine it happens but... the time of flight was 135. Me and 5 other passengers went to gate at 105 waiting. After seeing the plane was no longer there we finally figured out it had changed gates without informing us. We found the right gate at around 115. Upon arriving the manager said we could not board because he decided to close doors 15 minutes early knowing there was 5 passengers not on the plane. This is absolutely unacceptable! He was rude and offered no help. He said oh well you're not the first person to miss a flight. They refused to refund me and gave me a number in which someone answered after a 2 hour hold. They gave me a partial refund, at that point I would take what I can get. I found a flight with southwest and they were amazing and very helpful. Avelo airlines has zero customer service , heart or common sense. I will never fly with them again!!!

Do not fly here. Plane delayed 3 times. Missed 2 days of work and have a sick relative in the hospital I needed to see.
